System warns of developing tire problems

I found this reading the RV Travel newsletter and felt it would be of some interest to you. A tire failure on the highway is one of the most dreaded problems RVers face. Unfortunately, a tire failure often happens without warning, and many RVers don't even know about it until the tire catches fire or someone waves them over. That's why this warning system is worth serious considerationTake a look. Keeping track of tires from 18 wheels to six. Some may look at this as an advertisement. I feel safety is always a better idea and from a safety point of view is why I eleted to post it here for you to review. I do hope you feel the same.

Pacifica AWD as a flat tow

I have been trying to find more information on flat tow vehicles "ALL FOUR WHEELS DOWN" Looking at the 2008 Pacifica "ONLINE" I have not been able to find anything. I am also not sure about the "All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles. The first question is "why the need for AWD". I did review the Motorhomes magazine guide on Dinghy towing, but not much help their. The Jeeps have all been way to small with little or no comfort. Chev, GMC and FORD all seem to have a ton of information and restrictions on towing. I want touch an import for any of my driving needs. I am one who searches and searches until I find the right one. I am currently looking at the Pacifica and would like to find out if it is flat tow ready.

RE: The best of the best plases to see and park the RV

Thank y'all (Tallyo, Ca Traveler, Pattie AM, and MI Director) for the outstanding information and feedback. Skipnchar, I do not recall saying that we or I were not fond of mountains. I just did not care for driving a motorhome across a mountain road that was only two lanes and apeared a snake was followed up and down for the roadway. As for Florida I have truly seen it all even the Telephone booth Police department to the North. Key West, East and West coast where I have lived over the last 50 or so years. Do Not get me wrong, I love Florida and have enjoyed being here.

The best of the best plases to see and park the RV

Ok road wonders, Now you can tell me where to go.....( lol ) Where would you like to go again in your RV? My wife and I are looking for another road trip in March or April of 08, we enjoy American History and outstanding country sides. We are not big on long walks or trails (I hav a cane) or high mountain trails in a motor home by way of the two lane set into place by following snake paths up and down hills. We live in Florida so any place out side of our state would be nice. Where have you gone that you would return to again. Tell me what you liked best about the plase you visited and why.? Also about the RV park where you stayed.? Our Motorhome is 36 foot and 50 AMPs. Some areas we have had in mind have been Branson, Mt. Rushmore, Yellow Stone, New york and Canada. From the map below you can see where we have been. We would enjoy what ever feed back on the area along with links you have on both. Thanks in-advance for you helpful feedback of information.

RE: What's your tow vehicle?

You did know that Motor home Magazine puts out a yearly DINGHY TOWING VEHICLE list for flat (all four wheels down) towing. as for your need and the cost that has a lot to do with you. I like the jeeps myself, Liberty has a whole new look, but no change is seat area. The Commander I have not checked out as yet. GMC has a lot of tow vehicles with most leaning to drivers over all comfort. I also like the American autos over imports. However, their seem to be alot of HONDA loverers in thins forum. The best advise I could give you is to seat down a write down your needs then wants and look at the Motorhome Magazine list of Dighy Tows shown at the bottom of the main page. Print out the list and start your search. GMC has more than shown on the 2007 seven list. However the kicker is you can not drive over 65mph. Next you have to stop and start it about every 200 miles. So you will need to check what works best for your family.

RE: Law Enforcement RV Club

Law Enforcement Officers RV Culb. I like the idea and would like to be kept posted of any up dates. But as for any meetings, I am not sure about that part wondering where we would hold our meeting? As for Clubs already in place we have the Ten 13 Club, The Blue Knights, Thin Blue line, The The Fed's use the FOP as a club, but cut out the union part of the FOP. Then what would we name it? As for the word "COP" in the name I would have a problem with that part and most officers know why. Police Officers Motor Club or Motor home Lawman. The name may have to be worked on a bit. Then we would need a sign or logo of some kind the thin blue has with the Black flag and Blue line across the center for the Thin Blue Line As for all officers here in this forum, Retired or as one put it still on shift, let me say "thank you" For each day, night, sunday, holiday, special bithday missed, for just putting on that uniform. For no other person, that I know of has learned how not to cry at a sad event/accident than an officer at the door of a mother who just lost a son/daughter to a DUI. Officers get a bad rap from time to time, but I know of no other in blue who will go in when everyone is running out after shots fired. We do ask a lot from them in Blue, TRUST, HONOR and most of all INTEGRITY. Thank you for each day you served our Country, State, City, Hospital, Airports, Jails and along our 96,000 miles of US borders 24/7. "THANK YOU" As for me, I am no Police Officer. I do like the idea, please keep me posted...

RE: Auto Jacks

I did review manuals on the very subject prior with no luck. As for the batteries, I was switching power from generators to shore, when I lost total power. I was unable to start the generator or anything inside. I went to a near by Wal Mart and got three new batteries. I had no problem with the jacks prower prior to this. I have always found if you go back to the last problem you can most often fix the new problem. Thanks for your help and efforts.

RE: Problems towing a Honda CRV

We need Flat towable vehicles for our motorhomes on the road. As simple as posible for most. As for the vehicle most seem to enjoy on the road is the one you have to open the car door four times not three, remove the battery, do not drive over 65mph, always stop every other mile, start the motor and let it run for 5 mins. Miss anyone of the steps and you can buy a new vehicle. As I siad we need Flat twoable vehicles. We should start a rating system for towable vehilces that meet our approvel. Then you may see some changes in towable vehicles. I am sure the people above were trying to do all the right things before towing their vehicle. What happen was sad and I feel for them. We need some changes to our towable vehicles. I have the ideal chart for reviewing the right towable vehicle. I just have not found the vehicle that can do it yet.

Auto Jacks

I have a 2006 Tour by Winnebago; the first few times out, I had no problem with the Auto Jacks’. Almost 9 months into the motor home we went to a park and found our three main batteries were dead. After replacing them and heading to our North Georgia to our little RV spot. I found that the AUTO JACKS were not working in AUTO. Thinking back to my last problem with the batters, I felt I would only need to reset them. However, how do you reset them?
